Rolling Center have an exciting new opportunity to join our successful and growing team in Leeds as a Technical Support Specialist.

The Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Assisting customers with technical queries, predominantly over the phone but occasionally in the field and onsite
  • Delivering pre/post installation support and technical advice across a wide range of gate hardware, automation products, access control equipment, and intercoms
  • Developing strong and long-standing relationships with trade customers, end users and installers
  • Assisting with onsite installation by offering support and expertise with wiring, commissioning etc
  • Assist our returns department by carrying out testing or repairs on suspected faulty equipment
  • Liaising directly with supplies regarding warranty claims to ensure a speedy resolution for our customers
  • Assist with staff training to ensure all staff have a good understanding of all products
  • Work alongside our technical manager to create technical drawings, training courses, and other supporting documents
  • Create quotations for large or complex systems across the full range of equipment we supply including but not limited to cantilever gate installations, access control systems, intercom systems, automation installations, aluminium gate installations.
  • Checking sales quotes to ensure all are technically sound

Skills and Experience

  • Proven technical knowledge of (and working experience with) electro-mechanical products, ideally for access control, security, and/or gate automation applications
  • A recognised engineering qualification and/or time served ability to understand electro-mechanical concepts and tailor appropriate solutions that are both technically sound and commercially competitive
  • Previous experience with either installing or fault finding on small to medium sized IP based access control or CCTV system Systems
  • A confident and outgoing approach, with strong numeracy, analytical and customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal troubleshooting skills
  • Customer facing experience (1-2 years) of working with a broad range of customers, and an adaptable interpersonal style to suit
  • Proven fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Previous experience in a technical customer-facing role such as technical support, pre/post sales, commissioning, field service, applications engineering, estimating/proposals etc

Hours of Work

Monday to Thursday: 08:30 to 17:30

Friday: 08:30 to 16:30
