What sliding door hardware do you need?
A top-hung sliding door is made up of a few parts that have to work together:
- Track is fixed above the opening and carries the weight of the door. Our monorail track comes in three sizes and in galvanised or non-galvanised finishes.
- Wheels and pins are the carriages that hang the door from the track and let it run. Carriage size must match the track.
- Guide rollers keep the bottom of the door in line as it slides, so it can’t swing away from the opening.
- Travel stops fix at each end of the track to stop the door running off the end.
- Fixing brackets mount the track to the building structure.
- Pulleys are used on rope-operated doors, in nylon and steel, for various rope sizes.
- Accessories cover the smaller fixings and spares that complete an installation.
Specify the parts together
Track size, carriage size and brackets all need to match, and they’re chosen from the weight and width of the door. If you’re replacing worn gear on an existing door, measure the existing track section before ordering, or send us a photo and the dimensions and we’ll identify it. For a new door, our team can specify the full system from the door’s size, weight and whether it’s internal or external.
Sliding doors vs sliding gates
