This week we're shining a spotlight on our Warehouse Manager, Ben Hall. Leading the warehousing team, Ben is the expert behind the scenes, ensuring your orders are picked, collated and dispatched on time. Read his full story below.
With 14 years’ experience in warehouse management and team management, Ben’s our resident rugby union fan and all round expert when it comes to ensuring stock is correct, and goods go out in a timely manner. A stickler for logistics and detail, Ben enjoys helping our trade customers to find the right products they need, and keeping his team motivated and engaged in their work.
When asked what his favourite Rolling center product is, he says it “has to be a tie between the sliding gate tracks and cantilever products, because of their flexibility and versatility.”
A typical ‘day in the life’ of Ben involves a wide variety of tasks, from processing orders, to training and appraising staff, maintaining records and ensuring key objectives and deadlines are met. “First thing in the morning, myself and the team make sure we prioritise tasks and orders, to make sure we’re set up for a productive day,” says Ben. “Once the urgent tasks have been dealt with, I usually focus on responding to colleague/supplier/customer emails, and sometimes these can shape the day if it’s responding to a specific challenge or query!”
Out of work, Ben plays Airsoft, a team sport similar to paintball, with mock-combat elements and military style tactics. “I enjoy the sport as it feels more realistic than paintball, it’s a good team sport, lots of fun, and a great way to get some physical exercise!”, adds Ben.
